One of the first tasks set by the Croatian-Slavonian Fire Association, founded in 1876, was to publish a manual for the training of firefighters in the Croatian language and to publish a journal to accompany events in domestic firefighting. Thus, in 1882, the “Gjure Volunteer Trainer for Stjepan Dezelić Volunteer Firefighters” came out, and in 1986 the first issue of the “Firefighter Journal” was published, a newsletter by Croatian firefighters which is still published today.
In this collection, the Museum keeps manuals in the field of firefighting from the end of the 19th century to the present, as well as issues of magazines covering fire topics. A special part of the collection consists of posters and leaflets that were used to educate citizens about fire hazards.
